Not only are these brushes a beautiful pink-and-teal combo, but each also features a mermaid-textured handle for all of your mythical fantasies. And they’re each labeled by function -- a perfect addition for any beauty beginners looking for a basic brush set.

These brushes are incredibly soft, so even if you aren’t a makeup expert, they’re very forgiving in application.

I tested out each of the brushes, and the first thing I noticed was how exceptionally gentle they are. There’s nothing worse than feeling like you’re being poked when applying makeup. These brushes are super-gentle on the skin and blend nicely.

I first used the Complexion brush to apply liquid foundation. This brush is great because it doesn’t absorb a lot of product, so you don’t feel like you’re wasting anything when using it.

Next, I applied setting powder with the Powder brush. Like the rest of this collection, the Powder brush is extremely smooth and not streaky.

Finally, I tried the last face brush of the collection, the Highlight brush, which had a nice dome shape for blending, and applied really well to the skin.

The two eye brushes included in this set do not disappoint, either. The Shader and Crease brushes complement each other perfectly, sweeping across the eyelid like silk. Since these brushes are quite fluffy, they’re more suited for soft looks than sharp lines, but they also pick up a lot of pigment for a pop of color.
