A Colorful Throwback Palette that Won’t Break the Bank: Stuff My Stocking 2017, Stuffer 8
By Zoe Hawryluk
What’s most on makeup trend right now? Colorful eyeshadow and color-blocked eyes. And in fashion, it’s all about the throwback to iconic ʼ80s and ʼ90s looks.
Indeed, if those two style trends had a baby, it would be the Colourpop My Little Pony Palette ($16). It inspires the little girl inside of us to be creative, daring, and unique with our makeup. You may no longer be collecting those colorful little figurines with glittery hair, but you better start collecting every last item in this beauty collection.
This palette in particular is an incredibly versatile way to incorporate pops of color into your routine. With 12 shades, at about $1.33 per pressed shadow, the palette could not make bold eyes any easier. All of the shadows can be mixed and matched for a look so wild and so gorgeous, even Rainbow Dash would be jealous.
Not looking to go to the extreme? Colourpop helps you out by separating each row of shadows into a cohesive look. The top row is perfect for a warm, more neutral peachy pink glow, while the center row amps up the boldness with a hot pink and purple quartet (my personal fave). Finally, the bottom row seals the deal with deep, shimmering blues, and a champagne color with a blue flip.
In the above pictures, I used the second row of shadows to create a really easy and vibrant look.
With a mix of matte, satin, and shimmery finishes, I’ve never used shadows more affordable and more pigmented than Colourpop’s. This collaboration with My Little Pony makes the little girl in me shriek with glee -- and hopefully you will, too.
