As for our name, More Lovely. It was inspired by Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18:

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?

Thou art more lovely…

In our context, this means you were born lovely. So you’re already lovely. And you can be more with the right guidance, experts, and products.

Let us go then, you and I.

NYFW Beauty Trend Forecasting for Fall and Winter 2018 -- Presentation 2: Stila Cosmetics at Adam Lippes

By Margo Ghertner

My New York Fashion Week journey took me out to Brooklyn Heights, where designer Adam Lippes’ backstage was the second presentation I attended. I had the honor of speaking with Sarah Lucero, Global Creative Director of Artistry at Stila Cosmetics.

Let me just begin by saying that I was more than impressed with Stila’s product lineup. I found so many new products to add to my daily routine and I love that Stila creates products that are natural and minimal, while still adding punch and definition to your look. In fact, I loved some of the products so much that I went out and bought some after the show!

For the Adam Lippes show, Lucero brought these core values of natural definition of the Stila brand to fruition. Models kept a fresh face with a light layer of Stila’s Stay All Day Foundation+Concealer and lightly feathered brows from Stila’s Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Color. It's key to keep a light hand and feather your strokes when filling in your brows. To add some shimmer and light to the eyes, Stila’s Shimmer and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow was blended out on top of the lids to create a nice wash of metallic glow.

When it came to adding color, Lucero mentioned that she made sure to stay in the same color family for the look -- both cheeks and lips were mauvey, nudey pink tones. After working with the natural shape of the model’s face, Lucero lightly applied Stila’s Convertible Color Lip and Cheek Cream in Peony. She topped the cheek look off with Stila’s Heaven’s Hue Cream Highlighter in Opulence to add some extra glow.

To stick to the same color family, Lucero applied a coat of Stila’s Stay All Day Sheer Liquid Lipstick in Sheer Splendore, with Miele Shimmer pressed in lightly to add dimension. If you haven’t tried these liquid lipsticks yet, I highly recommend them. They’re light but have great color impact without feeling crispy or crunchy like other liquid lipsticks.

Not only did I learn from Lucero how to improve my natural beauty routine through experimenting with new product, I also learned that natural makeup is the new glam -- this trend here is to stay.
