To dare to disturb the universe with an original, strong, beautiful, smart, funny, and fun beauty and health site.

Daring because it’s created and written by An Actual Journalist with world-class medical, beauty, and journalist advisors.

Universal because we’re connecting real beauty and health information with real women and girls who care about those things as much as we do.

As for our name, More Lovely. It was inspired by Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18:

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?

Thou art more lovely…

In our context, this means you were born lovely. So you’re already lovely. And you can be more with the right guidance, experts, and products.

Let us go then, you and I.

Smelling Like Natalie

Smelling Like Natalie

By Gigi Anders

How could a Natalie Wood not get sucked into a scene so custom tucked? From “We Belong Together” by Rickie Lee Jones.

***

When exactly did I fall in love with Natalie Wood? In “Rebel Without a Cause,” when she turned James Deans’ cigarette the right way, at 0.34.

Beautiful, tender, and feminine, everybody’s fallen in love with Natalie Wood at some point in their movie-going lives. And, if you knew her well enough to get close to her, with her signature scent, Jungle Gardenia.

Natalie’s daughter Natasha Gregson Wagner was only 11 in 1981 when her mother, who was 43, mysteriously drowned off the coast of Catalina Island in California. Natasha comforted herself by sleeping in Natalie’s bed, whose sheets lingered with the fragrance of gardenias.

To remember, honor, and celebrate Natalie’s glamorous, vibrant, sweet life, Natasha has created Natalie perfume ($95). The classic yet modern bouquet opens with a blend of freesia, neroli, bigarade zest, and rose;  moves into gardenia, orange flower, narcissus, jasmine, and hyacinth; and settles in with a touch of fresh vanilla, soft woods, and skin musk.

It is awesome. Fit for a star. Or for the star you know you are.

P.S.: There’s also a gorgeous candle ($55) with a 60-hour burn time. That should be plenty long enough to binge you through Miracle on 34th Street (1947), Rebel (1955), Marjorie Morningstar (1958), Splendor in the Grass (1961), West Side Story (1961), Gypsy (1962), Love With the Proper Stranger (1963), and Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (1969) – for starters.
