To dare to disturb the universe with an original, strong, beautiful, smart, funny, and fun beauty and health site.

Daring because it’s created and written by An Actual Journalist with world-class medical, beauty, and journalist advisors.

Universal because we’re connecting real beauty and health information with real women and girls who care about those things as much as we do.

As for our name, More Lovely. It was inspired by Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18:

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?

Thou art more lovely…

In our context, this means you were born lovely. So you’re already lovely. And you can be more with the right guidance, experts, and products.

Let us go then, you and I.

The Fab Five Week 2

The Fab Five Week 2

By Gigi Anders

Four new lip goodies plus one new remover, all terrific and unexpectedly affordable.

1.)    Those wacky Brits think of everything. I think of Real Rebel Santhilea London Colour Perfect Luxury Lip Care ($9.99) as a mood ring for lips. It’s an olive green lip balm in a stick -- I know, it sounds weird, but stay with me here – that reacts with your chemistry and turns your lips into the best version of their natural hue. Since no two pairs of lips are alike, your rosy results are unique to you. It also feels great on; jojoba oil, shea butter, beeswax, and Vitamin E see to that.

2.)    Milani Cosmetics Amore Matte Lip Crème ($8.99) is a such a stellar steal. The color is intensely saturated, goes on like water, and will not budge until you’re ready. The color I tried and loved is 25/Allure, a rich, warm rose.

3.)    For 100% vegan gals who care about cruelty-free cosmetics, Mineral Fusion Lipstick ($14.99) is The Answer. Paraben-, artificial color-, fragrance-, talc-, and gluten-free -- not to mention hypo-allergenic and non-comodogenic – it’s semi-sheer, unsticky, and really pretty.

4.)    I love anything Laura Geller and her Iconic Baked Sculpting Lipstick ($21) is no exception. But it is exceptional: Super creamy and pigmented, and  each shade is named after a different NYC place. My fave for now is Bleeker St. Peach. But Lexington Avenue Coral and Big Apple Red are also calling my name.

5.)    When it’s time to take everything off, and I mean even waterproof everything, you can’t improve on Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes ($8.99 for a case of 25 towelettes). They’re big, thick, effective the first time, won’t irritate or grease out your eyes (even contact lens-wearing eyes), and so gentle that you don’t have to rinse. Your face feels completely clean and fresh and comfortable. Amazing product.
